For the first of 4 races in the series, runners get exclusive access to the stunning trails at Paul Cluver Wine Estate normally only open to mountain biking. The route is a rollercoaster through a river valley with a number of wooden bridges as well as climbs rewarded with magnificent vistas over the Elgin valley.

A jewel of a MTB day race in the heart of the Overberg. Try one of four distances: 15km, 30km, 45km or 55km, and take part in arguably one of the most beautiful mountain races in the Overberg with abundant flowers and awesome scenery! A somewhat challenging course in places but it surely caters to new and advanced cyclists. The Napier Wine & Patatfees MTB race delivers exciting routes with mostly single and jeep track. Join us in Napier for our well-known half marathon and 10km race – boasting a new name – The Bos Marathon! Based in the Overberg, runners will experience the beauty and peace of the Napier countryside while traversing our local mountain range and crossing stunning vineyards. It is a wonderful day out for the whole family! Expect jeep track, gravel roads and a little tar as you start and finish through the beautiful town of Napier. Stay for the weekend to experience all the activities our town has to offer.

A Trail Run in the heart of the Overberg. Try one of the three distances: 18km or 14km or 8km Fun Run/Hike. Take part in the beautiful mountain scenery that is in full bloom. The route was specifically built to show off our gorgeous area and bring 360° views for miles in every direction. Normally private land, the local farmers have agreed to open the route for the day. A challenging course that caters to new and advanced trail runners, the Napier Wine & Patatfees Trail Run delivers exciting routes with mostly single and jeep track. Run2Nowhere 2 day Trailrun McGregor

A great combination of short steep climbs, loose and rocky downhills, great single tracks and jeep tracks for recovery. Runners will enjoy beautiful scenery and views. The route is suitable for trail runners that would like to attempt their first multi day race.

It is also a perfect training weekend for runners preparing for longer distance stage races later in the year.

The Nissan Trailseeker Series stops over in the heart of the Cape Winelands and arguably the best trails in SA.  The picturesque town of Wellington is a scenic 45 minutes’ drive from Cape Town, with lots to offer to visitors both on and off the bike.

The beautiful Bosman Family Vineyards is the perfect venue to host such a fun and family friendly event.  New additions to the legendary trails will be unveiled, with challenging and enjoyable features for riders of all skill- and fitness levels.  Riders can look forward to an idyllic ride with panoramic views, with 10km, 20km, 40km and 65km routes on offer.

Nissan TrailSeeker MTB Series #3 Hemel & Aarde

The Nissan Trailseeker returns to the magnificent valley of Hemel & Aarde close to Hermanus in 2019. The area flaunts a diverse array of mountain biking trails catering for all levels of riders.  With panoramic views of vineyards surrounded by majestic mountains and glimpses of the coastline, it is no wonder that the area seems like it’s heaven on earth.

The Hemel & Aarde routes have claimed their fame from the Wines to Whales and the Cape Epic and need no introduction, but exciting new additions to the routes will ensure a memorable time on the bike for all.  Riders can choose between 10km, 20km, 40km and 70km routes on offer.

The valley provides visitors with endless opportunities to explore with a variety of different activities to try and new things to discover, perfect for the school holidays.

Runners and spectators can look forward to the features that make the well known mountain bike series so popular – Hot Showers, unique routes for all distances, Ladies specific toilets, a beer garden, food court, massages, expo- and club areas, child minding facility, well-stocked water points, top medical services with a doctor on site, and more!

3km PRAM-JAM:

The New PRAM-JAM family event is run entirely on it’s own unique pram and kids-bike friendly routes, the idea of this event is to get kids and parents out in a safe environment taking part in events with like minded outdoor families. Routes will mostly be on dirt farm roads with no traffic.

Suggested ages: babies to 10 year olds.

5km trail run:

The 5km trail run is suited to runners of all abilities, but is sure to have some unique and fun trails on offer, the route will also have a world class feed station to replenish on fluids and energy.

10km trail run:

The 10km trail run is aimed to be more of a challenge, runners needs to be prepared for some challenging terrain along with 10km of absolute bliss trails, little to no overlap with the other distances and two well stocked feed stations along the way.

21km trail run:

The 21km trail run, this is for the serious adventure seekers, we will combine the best trails and biggest hills we can find in the are to challenge you, however will make sure the fun factor is the main aim for the day! The trail will be on single tracks, and jeep tracks, with some surprises along the way…

GROOTVADERSBOSCH TRAIL RUN

Grootvadersbosch Trail Run

GROOTVADERSBOSCH TRAIL RUN 34km / 15km 6 July 2019.

• Only pre-entries.

• 200 tickets available. Don’t delay… It tends to sell out well before the event date.

• Entries close on 20 June 2019 or if the entry limit is reached before that date.

A change to previous years: Both the 34km and 14km runs will take place on the same day. The run will also start and finish inside the GVB Reserve at the GVB Cottages. 8 years ago, this was where this run originated/started/finished – since then, Cape Nature revamped/rebuilt the old, dilapidated wooden huts and replaced it with Eco friendly cottages and also upgraded the road in and out to this venue which means one can now get in and out with a normal sedan vehicle – even in rainy conditions.

Distance options:

  • 34km – 6km Indigenous forest trail followed by 28km, awesome Mountain trails via Boosmansbos with incredible views.
  • 15km – A split between indigenous forest trails and lower mountain trails with stunning views over Saagkuilskloof and some of the other valleys below Boosmansbos.

ENTRY FEE:

  • 34km – R980.00 per person. Including delicious soup and fresh rooster-brood lunch, prize-giving dinner [Meat/Veg potjie], branded race cap and CNC [Cape Nature Conservation] fees/permits and a finish line, custom made/branded wood/coffee coaster.
  • 15km – R550.00 per person. Includes, as per detail above. You will have the option to order additional catering when you enter, for non runners such as family and friends.

Entry requirements:

Participants have to be trail running fit, carry the stipulated equipment and be over the age of 18 to enter the 34km option.
