About: The Virtual Bainbridge Believe Ride is a fundraising event that supports the CHOC Childhood Cancer Foundation. (If you wish to donate more to CHOC, you are most welcome to do so – please just add it to your entry amount.)

This year marks the tenth edition of the race, and while we would love to host a big party to celebrate this milestone, this is simply not possible in the age of COVID-19. We have thus worked hard to make this an event where you don’t have to ride alone, and thus we have earmarked three routes on Zwift where you will be able to ride as part of a group on the 24th October.

Bainbridge Believe Ride is a virtual challenge that cyclists can enter and cycle, wherever they are based in the world.
Bainbridge Believe Ride 55km is a virtual challenge that athletes over the age of 15 and any ability can enter and cycle.
Entries open Thursday 17 September and close at 11:59pm on Tuesday 20 October. All entries will be taken online via the Modern Athlete website, https://www.modernathlete.co.za/the-bainbridge-believe-ride/ and payment will be done via Payfast.
The entry fee for participation in the 55km is R150 per person.
Participants will be sent a detailed set of instructions via e-mail prior to the race starting, explaining the process of recording and submitting their times.
Participants can either choose to complete the route on Zwift using the route Dust in the Wind in Watopia or they may complete it outdoors in line with Covid19 restrictions.
Timing Options: Ideally, cyclists can use their smart devices to record their cycle, but times from apps such as Strava or something similar will be accepted. A screenshot of the Zwift activity will also be accepted. This is to verify activities are in fact correct, and submissions of times will still be a manual process via the Bainbridge Believe submission form.
Participants will be able to submit their times in the week following the event, final submission will be on the 30th October 2020.
Spot Prizes will be drawn, but as this is a charity event, no prize money will be on offer.
Results for the event will be published on our event website through leader boards published online.
Results announced will be final and no extra correspondence will be entered into by the organisers or sponsors of the challenge.
If merchandise is purchased, the delivery will only be after the event, times are dependent on availability from suppliers.
Participants in this challenge do so at their own risk, and release and discharge the organisers and sponsors from any responsibility, liability or costs relating to any injury, loss or damage of whatever nature, however caused, arising directly or indirectly from their participation in the challenge.
